Gunlake Pleated Coral Romper

Coral Pleated Romper: Versona

This past weekend was such a quick, fun and exhausting time in Michigan. We left late Thursday night after Andrew got out of work, which helped Luther sleep the entire way and arrive to the Mitten around 8:30 AM its safe to say we didn’t sleep once we got in! We had plenty of places to stop and see everyone and show off Luther, of course! When we arrived to the lake we got us some lunch and let Luther meet is Uncle Charlie ( Salt & Pepper 11 year old Miniature Schnauzer ) and relaxed. Later that day we went to make our visits and ended up at the end of the night at my mom and step dads for a yummy home cooked meal.

This Dock is right in front of Andrew’s family home. I have to say it really never gets old. Coming out here and being able to sit right on the lake and enjoy some cocktails and family time. I knew this outfit would be perfect for the day on the lake. This is Gunlake a smaller town in Michigan near Kalamazoo and the Grand Rapids area if you’re not familiar. My hometown is about 30 minutes from Gunlake.

Our Weekend Recap:

Saturday: We woke up and set up for Al’s Retirement Party ( Andrew’s Father ) and relaxed as much as we could until that night we celebrated his dad’s retirement party! It was a hoot, practically a family reunion for Andrew! I absolutely adore his family, not only are they are so sweet and beautiful on the inside and out  but THE FOOD! I am such a foodie. I love when I know they are going to cook because I always arrive on an empty stomach and have 3 plates full!

Sunday: Mothers Day, I planned a nummy brunch for Andrew’s family and my mom and step dad at the Waldorf Brew pub and bistro a local brewery in Hastings, Michigan. I loved spending the day with my mom and loved being a dog mom. We knew we were heading out Monday AM so we went to bed super early!!

Monday: We headed back to KC! And I received some really really great news regarding my blog, and my photography business!! That I cannot wait to share with you all VERY SOON! Other than that, Luther did so good until we got about an hour away from our apartment and totally wanted out and wanted to play. Poor thing, as much as we should have stopped we wanted to get home so we just pushed though! He did so good I can’t complain. Yesterday I stayed home to regroup, clean, grocery shop and do laundry! It felt so good … meaning I wish I was still in bed right now! Ha.

NOTHING feels better than being home! Let me tell ya. I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day weekend!

April Beauty round up

My April Beauty round up! I am so picky about beauty products because my skin is so sensitive. All the products I talk about and use I promise to be completely honest with you all about my experience with them all.

Gillette Venus Swirl : I received this complementary from VOX BOX for Influenster, for reviewing.  I have to be honest I hate shaving my legs because I always cut myself and this shaver I didn’t have one cut!! Especially on my knees I usually do but nope! No cuts, or razor burn! #choosetosmooth

Eos Shave Cream: Speaking of razor burn! No matter what shaving cream I have always got razor burn but not with Eos. It was so moisturizing and my legs are so smooth!

NYX Lipstick: NYX has stepped up there game! I absolutely love their lipstick. I received this in my April Ipsy bag and fell in love. I love that it is matte and it lasts for some time. It also doesn’t leave any lines when you apply it!

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation : I have to admit I am just starting to explore different types of foundation ranging from pricing and brands. I came across this one and absolutely LOVE IT! It reminds me of my Tarte foundation but honestly is a little lighter. And the matte texture is the perfect look for everyday!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day : I am a sucker for hair masks. And this is the perfect match for me. I just put it on my hair at night and sleep with a cap and rinse in the morning. I can tell a difference in just one use.

Cera Ve Eye Repair Cream: I have always had really dark circle under my eyes since I was little, and no matter how much sleep I get they are always a little darker and this eye cream has been so great for that. If you have dark circles or even creases already I have noticed a difference after a week of using it!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: I own so many tubes of Mascara! This mascara is my go to now! My lashes are fuller, feel thicker and do not CLUMP! Thats one thing I find a lot in mascara is that they are great but they clump and I hate that. But no clumps here with this mascara!

Kenra Blow Dry Spray: I learned a while ago to always put a heat protector on my hair when using heat! I have tried so many and they either make my hair still feel so dry or greasy! The Kenra Blow Dry Spray has been a perfect match for my hair!

Dry Shampoo : I fell in love with Dry shampoo when I was in college! Some people don’t understand it! I can go 3 solid days with this dry shampoo and it not look greasy. I know your thing EWW! But seriously it smells good, no grease! Also side not that the brand has so many yummy smells! This  brand is super inexpensive and can find at your local Target!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Brunch in Waldo

DRESS: Forever 21 // SHOES: Keds // SUNGLASSES: Francescas

I am all about that half up, half down hair look lately. Usually I wear my hair all down either curled or straightened but I have been working on trying not to do so much to it. The more I deep condition, take my vitamins and not use so much heat on my hair I truly can tell a difference. (Hair care routine coming soon)

Can we just take a moment to talk about this dress!? I got it from forever 21 for $14.00 it is the perfect go to dress but I never knew linen would wrinkle so bad. I steamed it twice and it was perfect and then a ride in the car and it got so wrinkly! So excuse the wrinkles 😉

Sunday’s are my favorite and yesterday was the perfect Sunday for me! Andrew and I went out to eat at Louis Wine and Dive down in Waldo, KS. If you love a good breakfast, Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s thats the place to be! I got the benedict’s and eggs and Andrew got their breakfast platter. We then went and bought our first grill, I am such a nerd but I was so excited to get one. We spent the rest of the day putting that together, playing with Luther and visiting with family.

Have a great week!

Luther Nash

Happy Friday and Happy 2 Months Luther Nash! I can’t believe he has been with us a week, today.

Luther’s Story!

4 Months ago Andrew and I talked about getting a puppy but were very indecisive, not only because they are an investment and time consuming but the fact that our lives would be forever changed. Andrew was addamit on getting a Miniature Schnauzer because his family dog (Charlie) is that breed and they are great dogs! I agreed that we could get one also and once he gave me the GO I was on the hunt for breeders. We found Jennifer who owns My Lovable Schnauzers from Nashville, TN. She was very informational and I was in contact with her before we agreed to get a puppy to just pick her brain. I had lots of questions and she answered them all. She made the process getting Luther such a breeze. Once Luther was born, we had first pick between him and his brother they were both black but Luther has his little white patch. It took me 4.5 weeks to decided which one to choose, why do I say “it took me” because Andrew picked not only the breed he picked the sex and his name! So it was on me to choose which one we would bring home! We obviously chose Luther. There was just something about him during the weeks when we saw pictures/ videos and conversations between Jennifer (breeder) and I! He is the perfect match for us.

We traveled last week to Nashville to pick him up and he did awesome on our 8 hour drive. It felt like it took us 10 hours due to stopping and letting him out and always looking at him while driving haha! From the very beginning of wanting a dog I always believed in crate training. So he has been in his crate since day one being home and sleeping at night. He has done awesome every night. He cries for about the most 3 minutes and goes to bed until 6-7am with no accidents. He is staring to learn to go to the stairs to let us know he has to go potty, he’s had some accidents in the apartment but nothing major! He has became very attached to me which I think drew has became a little jelly 😉 but it was bound to happen to know of us!  Luther LOVES to eat. We ended up feeding him a little more because he was acting like we were starving him, poor thing. His favorite toy is a partial giraffes butt ( thank you auntie Stacy ) this toy is hilarious and I have to go buy him more because it is practically missing its tail now!Link here to similar toy: Dog Toy . Luther is getting along great with other dogs especially Lillie ( my sisters dog ) He loves her. He likes meeting knew people but is a little timid and shy at first but that is known with this type of breed, the more we expose him to people, noises and anything and everything the more he will be open. He loves spending the morning in the bathroom with Andrew and I when we get ready for work and loves the couch. He runs and tries to jump up but isn’t even close to clearing! He can go up all our stairs, but cannot go down them yet, he just barks! He can sit on command and we are working on laying down and roll over. He is still learning and so are we! This is a very big transition for Andrew and I but we are both thrilled and so happy we have him. I never thought I would be that “dog mom” but I am so GUILTY! I hope you all have a great Friday and awesome weekend!
