10 Healthy Habits To Balance Your Lifestyle

10 Healthy Habits

I don’t know about you but I sometimes bite off more than I can chew. I often try to combine too many changes, work, social life and my hobbies. So today I am sharing with you 10 Healthy habits to create  more balance in your day-to day life.

Go for a walk in the Morning and at night for 30 minutes at least, or more!
Walking for me in the morning or after work has been a way to let out negative energy and try hard not to interact with my phone and disconnect!

Drink water throughout the day!
It is recommended to dirnk  eight- 8 ounces a day. Some people who hate water, so for an alternative grab those flavored packages that are no calories and drink away!

10 Healthy Habits

Cut back on coffee and pop and replace it with a fruit.
This one I am still working on, when a Dr.Pepper is taunting me in the fridge at work it is hard to say no.

Write in a journal whether that be about your day, the good the bad or a to-do list of what you want to accomplish.
Writing in a journal has been a way for me to really escape and turn to god about my problems, accomplishments and goals!

Create a go-to playlist.
Create playlist that you can listen to in the car, work and working out! I find that mixing music up for different daily activities keeps my mind clear. I personally recommend Spotify. Andrew and I have a subscription.

Stretch!
Stretch once or twice a day will make a  difference. Especially if you sit at a desk all day, find time to walk throughout the day whether that be on your lunch or even to get fresh water!

Set Goals.
Setting goals gives you long-term determination and short- term motivation!

Get plenty of sleep!
We all need plenty of sleep it helps us rejuvenate and boosts our immune systems.

Brainstorm.
Being a creaitve and not working a creative job, I find myself always brainstorming my next big idea. My family thinks I am crazy  with some of the things I come up with. It is always healthy to always be thinking of things that interest you.

Make free time once a week.
I know it sounds hard sometimes, but when you create at least 30 minutes to an hour for free time you can plan what you want to do with that free time. Whether it be grabbing coffee with a girlfriend or taking a drive.

Share below what you do to help balance your lifestyle, I would love to hear from you!

Comfy Casual

Who doesn’t love a comfy casual outfit! I love dressing up or dressing down a basic solid color dress and of course pairing it with my go to shoes Keds!

How fun is this jean hat! I recently got it from Shop Scoobie! They had a various amount of fun colors and materials. Lets talk about this dress also with the  pop of color, I have always struggled with figuring out what color is “my” color. I’ve always been told mustard yellow and orange  is not for blondes and blah blah blah! I don’t believe that anyone  can tell you what is and what is not your color! My tip of the night is go bold or go HOME! Color is in and so are risks, try new things you will never know until you try.

Speaking of trying new things, going on TV was such a fun experience for me and my blog Layers and Lipstick! I would have to say I am still at a loss of words from all the love and encouragement I received that  was truly inspiring.  Again, thank you all for tuning it. If you still missed it head on over to my Facebook page Layers and Lipstick (<click) and you can find it there! 🙂

I am so ready for the weekend! Andrew is headed to Chicago and I have booked up my weekend with multiple coffee dates with some good friends, a food truck and wine night, and of course a long to-do list!

Don’t get me wrong I love living with Andrew and seeing his sweet face everyday but I am kind of excited to have the house to myself. That means catching up on laundry, cleaning my office, catching up on OITNB and many more little things.

I am off to bed now! Good night loves!

Have a great weekend!

Fourth Of July Weekend

Happy Wednesday! This weekend is one we always must remember to celebrate. The Fourth is to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence!

One memory that always resinates with me around this time of the year is going to the parades or being in the parades in my hometown Dorr, Michigan. I would ride the gator with my mom and Paul (stepdad) throwing candy and spraying water! Since I have moved back to Kansas City I have been in it once with Andrew 3 years ago… so hard to believe. But one thing I love watching is everyone in how they are genuinely happy and how many walks of life come out to celebrate such an important day.

Below I have attached a fun video of Andrew and I three years ago on the Fourth!

I am wearing this fun shirt from Shop Scoobie “Party In The USA”. I always love a fun t-shirt for the Holiday. These shorts are from American Eagle I think I got them a couple years ago, so comfy! And my red sandals are from Forever 21 🙂 I am feeling so festive!

We don’t have any set plans this weekend, I know we are going to a lake and for sure some pool days are looking to be in our plans!

Do you have any big plans this weekend 🙂 Leave a comment I would love to hear what you’re doing!

Don’t forget to watch this fun video of Andrew and I <3
